The season in numbers!
After such an amazing season I have dug into the records to find some of the statistics.
In the Championship Cup Bedwas were in the draw four times. One match against Gorseinon was awarded to Bedwas following the withdrawal of Gorseinon from the competition. In the other three games Bedwas scored 87 points and conceded 41 points.
In the Championship Bedwas played twenty-four games losing one game on a very wet night in Treorchy but picked up a losing bonus point for finishing within seven points of the winners.
The team picked up a four try bonus point in the remaining twenty-three games to amass a total of 1315 points scoring 197 tries in the process. Defence was also key as 353 points were conceded. This gives an average over the season of 52.6 points scored per game, with an average of 14.7 points conceded.
Of the 197 tries scored in league rugby Luke Crane led the way with twenty-two, Adam Williams notched twenty, Mike Dacey eighteen and Aaron Billingham seventeen.
James Hallett added 163 points from the kicking tee, with a further 117 points from James Dixon.
It’s congratulations and well done to everyone who has worn the Bedwas jersey this season, enjoy a good summer break and prepare for the challenge of Premiership rugby next season.
