We are delighted to announce our partnership with Wickes, Caerphilly.  Wickes situated at Parc Pontypandy, Gallagher Retail Park have the community at heart and this is where our partnership begins. 

As we both work hard to bring our community and its people closer to us we join forces in an effort to help us achieve our goals in communicating and supporting the residents of Bedwas and neighbouring areas.

We invited Store Manager Tony Elston to join us at Bedwas RFC for a tour of the club and to meet some of the players in particular Jonathan Armitage whom Wickes are sponsoring this season.  Jonathan who was raised in Bedwas has played all the way through the Mini and Junior pathway and into Youth only to return in a number of years to the Principality Premiership club as a senior player.  Jonathan also has community at heart volunteering as one of our Bedwas RFC Noggin Mental Health Ambassodors to raise awareness for player mental health on and off the field.  

Tony Elston commented when asked which player Wickes wanted to sponsor he said ”When we discussed which player to sponsor it became clear that Jonathan was an obvious choice because he was a player from this area and it would make sense to support a player that is from the local community.” 

We also asked Tony what it means to be part of Bedwas RFC as a sponsor and a partner to which he stated, ”Wickes have a responsibility to support it’s community and as rugby is such an integral part of this village, we are delighted to work with Bedwas RFC to achieve this and look forward to working together for the remainder of the season and years to come to really focus on the meaning of community and supporting the residents who live within it.
