After a successful opening day victory over Cross Keys Head Coach Stefan Sankala makes a number of changes for the WRU Specsavers Cup fixture at Tata Steel RFC (Abbots Close, Port Talbot, SA13 2NF) on Saturday. It is believed this is the first time the two teams have met in any competition.
Overall Sankala was delighted with the teams opening victory and being mindful of the long season ahead takes the opportunity to try out some different combinations.
James Hallett retains the full back’s jersey with Liam Jenkins coming in for his debut on the right wing with Alec Jones moving to his preferred position at centre. Matt Bancroft starts at scrum half and partners Dion McIntosh in the half backs. Jordan Rees continues on the left wing
Up front Josh Dunleavy debuts at hooker and is partnered in the front row with Jamie Tucker and Owen Ford. Matthew Bovington and Gareth Allen pair up at lock forward with Alex Thau making his debut in the back row alongside Owen Jones and Dale Rogers who takes on the captain’s armband.
