Treorchy next up in early kick-off fixture

Bedwas RFC 1st team play their first home match of the new season on Saturday as we welcome Treorchy RFC to the Bridge Field. Please don’t forget this game is a 1-00pm Kick-Off and due to an event in the clubhouse there will be no parking for spectators in the ground; please use the car park at Peters Pies.

There are a number of changes to this week’s side due to injuries and holidays.

Tristan Kugler makes his first team debut and we offer him congratulations on this achievement as he come through from the Junior Section via Youth and Barbarians sides.

There’s a new look centre partnership as Rhys Peters and Jacob Lee take the reins with Adam Williams moving to the right wing and Leo Geraci to the opposite wing.

Jak Robbins starts at Scrum half partnering Lloyd Wilkins in the half backs.

Last weeks starting front row remains unchanged but there’s changes to the second row as Will Fishlock and Gareth Allen take over from the unavailable Jo Hole and Harry Oliver.

The team will be led by Rhys Morgans at blindside flanker, he will be joined in the back row by Been Eedy and debutant Number 8 Lloyd Jones who replaces the injured Dale Rogers.

The front row replacements are the same as last week with Lewis Crane and Lewis David returning the latter on permit from Newport RFC. There’s a potential debut for summer signing Ben Lewis who makes up the five players on the bench.

Ahead of the game Pat McGee said “Not the start we wanted last week. The lads have worked hard this week and looking forward to putting in a good performance this week at home.”
