It’s the biggest game of the season this Friday as Bedwas head to table topping Pontypool for a game that was originally scheduled to take place in November but was postponed due to Cup fixtures involving both sides.
Pontypool will remain favourites to win the promotion back to the Premiership but Bedwas look forward to the challenge they present and will be hoping to upset the apple cart.
There are a few changes to the Bedwas side that last played at Ystalyfera 13 days ago. In the back line James Hallett returns at full back and Owain Keane starts at scrum half. Adam Williams comes in on the bench to cover unavailability of others. Up front Tom Devine starts at loose head prop with Dale Rogers leading the side from hooker. Gareth Allen returns from the injury he picked up at Maesteg Quins in early December to partner Craig Hudd in the second row.
The full twenty selected is: 15. James Hallett, 14. George Collins, 13. Matthew Williams, 12. Lewis Bowden, 11. Jordan Rees, 10. Dion McIntosh, 9. Owain Keane; 1. Tom Devine, 2. Dale Rogers ©, 3. Kelvyn Williams, 4. Craig Hudd, 5. Gareth Allen, 6. James Richards, 7. Owen Jones, 8. Jonathan Armitage
Replacements: 16. Lewis Davies, 17. Rhys Hutcherson, 18. Mike Dacey, 19. Rory Harries, 20. Adam Williams.
Those supporters who are not travelling to Pontypool may wish to note that Bedwas RFC is hosting the Dewer Shield fixture between Pontypool School and Newport Schools at Under 15 level, kick-off 7-00pm.
