One step away from the Principality Stadium!

The tension is building, the excitement is building, as Bedwas RFC 1st team heads into its biggest game of the season thus far. A semi final at Newbridge RFC against Bargoed RFC in the WRU Championship Cup is almost upon us. The rewards for winning this game are huge for our players as the final will take place in the Principality Stadium on April 7th against the winners of the other semi final between Narberth and Ystrad Rhondda. Kick off is at 2-30pm.

It is surely every players dream to play on the hallowed turf of the Principality Stadium and create for themselves a real ‘I played there’ memory to pass on to their children and grandchildren.

Head coach Pat McGee reflected on this in his thoughts going into the game: ‘With a break from league action we turn our attention to the cup’ he said ‘It’s one step away from the stadium, the boys have nothing to lose. We have trained well all week and look forward to the game!’

The cup rules allow a twenty-three-man squad to be named and the following players are selected:

James Dixon needs one point reach two hundred points for the season.

The match referee is Mr Simon Mills who will be assisted by AR1 Owen Wrangham and AR2 Rob Clemett.
