Bedwas seek to bounce back from last week’s defeat

After last week’s brief sojourn to a WRU Championship Plate fixture its back to league action on Saturday as we welcome Ystalyfera RFC to the Bridgefield.

All at Bedwas will be hoping the team selected can put last week’s disappointing reverse at Cardiff Met behind them.

There are a few changes to the team selected.

Up front Newport’s Matt Dwyer continues to occupy the hooker berth in an unchanged front row. Ben Sier moves up to the second row with harry Oliver moving to the bench. Owen Jones and Alex Bourne return at open-side flanker and Number 8 respectively.

Behind the scrum there’s changes to the back two with Alec Jones coming in at right wing and a start at full back for youngster Hamish Anderson who makes his first start after representing Bedwas RFC Second XV.

On the bench we welcome prop forward Jack Wakely on permit from Pontypool United.
