Bedwas RFC Supports the Parish Trust

The directors and members of Bedwas RFC were troubled to hear of the difficulties faced by local charity, The Parish Trust. We wanted to take this opportunity to reaffirm our support for the charity and its work in the wider Bedwas community.

The Parish Trust is committed to tackling poverty in all its forms, giving opportunities for people to learn and develop skills, providing a platform for young people to grow and flourish and bringing people together to create meaningful community and connections. It has done some brilliant work in the local area, particularly through the pandemic, and its foodbank is crucial lifeline for many families in the area. Its youth club and lunch club demonstrate its positive impact right across the different generations in our community.

Bedwas RFC members have volunteered with the Trust and families connected with the club have benefited from its work. We want to see that work continue and hope that the Trust can overcome its present challenges so it can keep supporting our community.

Will Rees, Bedwas RFC Director said: “The Parish Trust has become an integral part of the wider Bedwas community over the last few years and I know that many of our members have a deep connection with the charity and its mission. We want to see that work continue and I know that the whole community feels the same way.

“As a club we want to support the Trust in whichever way we can. We would love to host the Trust on a matchday soon to do some fundraising via a bucket collection at the Bridgefield.”
