Bedwas hopeful that icy weather will lift

Bedwas RFC are hopeful that the icy conditions that led to the cancellation of last week’s fixture against Penallta will have lifted sufficiently to enable this important fixture to go ahead. All roads will lead to the Treorchy Oval (CF42 6UD), kick-off 2-30pm.

Weather and cup fixtures have seen the proposed fixture list showing five games that have not been played, this combined with next weekend being Bedwas’ bye weekend potentially gives a bigger problem of when these fixtures will be played. The season will surely need to be extended, we await confirmation from the Union.

Ahead of the game Head Coach Pat McGee said “We’re hopeful to get back to league action this week. The lads have trained well in testing conditions, we are well prepared and ready for the challenge Treorchy will bring.”

Bedwas have selected the same starting pack as would have taken the field against Penallta but make changes behind the scrum with Leo Geraci mobbing to outside centre and Rhys Peters moving to the bench. Jak Robbins comes in at scrum half with George Thorrington on permit from Pontypridd making his Bedwas debut on the left wing.
