Bedwas head west to Tondu

Bedwas RFC take a break from Championship action this weekend as the boy’s head west for a Championship Cup fixture against Tondu RFC (Pandy Park, CF32 9RE).

As Bedwas supporters will recall Tondu were the winners of this fixture at the semi-final stage of the same competition last season. The team are keen to make amends for last season’s defeat as reflected in Head Coach Pat McGee’s thoughts.

“This week we turn our attention away from league action as we face a crucial cup fixture against the very side that knocked us out of the competition last year. It’s a match that brings an extra edge, with the players eager to set the record straight and progress to the next round.” Said McGee.

“Our league form has been strong, with positive results giving the squad plenty of confidence heading into this tie. The team’s momentum and togetherness have been clear in recent weeks, and we’ll be looking to carry that same energy into what promises to be a tough but exciting cup encounter.”
