Bid to escape relegation starts here. Come and get behind the Bedwas boys

Bedwas host near neighbours Bargoed RFC on Friday evening in a fixture which may go a long way to deciding which of the two clubs is relegated from the Principality Welsh Premiership at the end of the current season.

Whilst Bedwas won the fixture at Bargoed in early October this has the potential to be a very abrasive match as both sides are not where they want to be.

Bedwas head coach Stefan Sankala makes one change to the backline which turned out at Carmarthen last week with Jacob Chilcott coming in at fly half for Evan Lloyd who moves to the bench. The front five remain unchanged with a welcome return to Bedwas for the Dragons’ Number 8 James Benjamin which allows Dale Rogers to cover his usual hooker position from the bench.

On the replacements bench we welcome Dragons’ Academy prop forward Josh Reynolds for what will be his Bedwas debut. Jonathan Armitage returns from injury and Rhys Davies comes in for Pat Lewis.

The hopes of the Bedwas faithful rests on the following match day squad.

15. Joseph Scrivens, 14. Jordan Rees, 13. Connor Edwards, 12. Lewis Bowden, 11. Adam Williams, 10. Jacob Chilcott, 9. Luke Crane; 1. Brynley Toms, 2. Alun Rees ©, 3. Rhys James, 4. Gareth Allen, 5. Craig Hudd, 6. James Richards, 7. Nathan Hudd, 8. James Benjamin.

Replacements.

16. Josh Reynolds, 17. Dale Rogers, 18. Rhys Hutcherson, 19. Jonathan Davies, 20. Jonathan Armitage, 21. Rory Harries, 22. Evan Lloyd, 23. Ryan Davies
