Bedwas entertain Newport at the Bridge Field; kick off 7-15pm.
Having won at Carmarthen for the first time in many years table topping Bedwas will be keen to ensure their unbeaten home record is maintained when they take on near neighbours Newport on Friday evening.
The back line sees several changes to that that started at Carmarthen. Stuart Thomas is recalled at full back, Matthew Pewtner switches from centre to right wing and Scott Williams comes back into centre against his former club. Scrum half Tom Rowlands is also recalled to the starting fifteen.
Up front there is only one change from the eight that started at Carmarthen with Sam Feehan coming into the back row in place of Tom Organ who starts on the replacements bench.
Newport come into the game in a good run of form. Bedwas head coach Steve Law commented ‘Newport are unbeaten in their last five matches and as ever will be formidable opponents. The boys have trained hard and we are all expecting a full bloodied Gwent derby. This team is taking one game at a time and everyone is keeping their feet on the ground and taking nothing for granted’
Law added ‘On behalf of everyone at Bedwas RFC I would like to congratulate Ross Wardle who this week signed a full time contract with the Dragons which will run until the end of the 2014 season’
